Yara is an international development professional with 20 years of experience in the non-

profit sector, known for advancing social change, managing NGOs, and improving grant

processes. She specializes in organizational development, strategy development, program

management, and supporting social justice movements, and has led major civil society

strengthening efforts across MENA. Her experience includes work with the Ford

Foundation’s MENA Office and New York headquarters, as well as roles focused on strategy,

learning, civic spaces, and governance. Yara serves on the MENA Digital Rights Fund’s Expert

Advisory Committee and the Board of Greenpeace MENA, and has held positions with Save

the Children, European Bilaterals, and the EU Delegation in Egypt. She is a Senior Atlantic

Fellow for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE), researching the impact of digital

entrepreneurship on inequality.
